MAY Program
Mary Takvam, soprano, is a graduate of Crane School of Music at the State University of N.Y. Potsdam, with an emphasis in voice and violin. She previously taught and performed in the Mid Hudson Valley. Mary has performed operas, oratorios, church and recital music and also performed with a light opera vocal quartet. She is a member of Chorus Austin and also sings with AVAE, the chorus' select group. In addition, she has also taught music in the Austin area public schools.
Marvin Frank, tenor, is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Engineering and also sang in the Pitt glee club. He has studied voice with a variety of teachers and has sung in choruses of numerous operas in Austin and the Upstate New York area. He previously sang with The Austin Lite Opera Ensemble, entertaining in retirement facilities and other community functions. Currently he a member of the Conspirare Symphonic Chorus, Hill Country Singers and Chorus Austin.
Greta Gutman, pianist, is a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University, in Bloomington, Illinois. She has performed as accompanist for a wide variety of musical groups and ensembles in the Austin area. Greta founded and continues to play for We are the Chorus, a integrated chorus for people with disabilities. She has played a variety of music including liturgical, Broadway, opera, and the classics.
